Why I read: I wanted to try a book by the new publisher, Carina Press, and this just caught my eye. Ok, so it was the TWO dudes and just one girl on the cover…who could resist?

Even his foster-brother Brett has always felt at home. Rescued from an extremely abusive father as a child, Brett has grown up as a close brother to Dillon. T Why I read: I wanted to try a book by the new publisher, Carina Press, and this just caught my eye. They have definitely had their bumps along the way though. In high school, they both lusted after the same girl, Nikki Kimball, and although Brett shared a night of kissing with her, as adults, Dillon is the one to make a move towards romance.
Nikki suffered years of a verbally abusive marriage, and still suffers from verbally abusive parents. Now divorced, she took Phil, her brother in, in hopes that he can move past his criminal youth and make a life for himself. Her night is about to go from possibly a little action with Dillon to catastrophe.
Nikki comes home to find herself robbed of all possessions, and Phil no where to be found. He also takes off with her money, leaving Nikki with nothing. Dillon offers her a place to stay at his house, and they both want to explore the physical side of their lust. Brett feels like he owes Dillon his life for practically saving him from his abusive father, so he would never do anything to break apart the special thing happening between them.
Soon, though, he may get a taste of what it is to love this woman, even if he has to share. Texas Tangle features two foster brothers, not related by blood in any way, so this passes the test for me.
Leah Braemel really works in the back story, giving us Dillon and Brett, who are very close, yet have young adult drama that have driven them so far apart in the past. Nikki knows them both growing up, and now that her drama has ended with her ex-husband, she is at the perfect spot in her life for something new. At the end, I believed in this trio. His mother and others were rooting for the three of them to get together. It all seemed a bit too easy on the family end. They really spend so much of the book analyzing and really making sure this is the right choice for all of them and consequently, their relationship comes across very mature.
Although I think you do have to give a bit over to the fantasy side. I mean — two really hot dudes that worship just this one girl? Brett is a quiet man, but such a dirty, dirty boy. Leah Braemel gives us plenty of hot scenes and I really enjoyed them.

Nikki is a girl you can like, i did, even if there were times she irritated me slightly when she was all angst ridden about which man to choose, but she is just a sweet country girl, lonely and is suddenly drawn into double attraction from Dillon and step brother Brett.
Pretty much right away things turn physical for Nikki and Dillon, it's a believable heat between them and i wondered how a menage as the cover implies would be brought into the story since Brett was determined to not act on his attraction for Nikki and give Dillon -who he thinks of as a brother- the chance he never had with her. It was Brett's back story that tugged at my heart strings, and it makes you understand why he doesn't toss his hat into the ring right away to win Nikki over.
And the tension with him and Dillon left you guessing to as to which direction the story would go in. You know those books when there's more than one male lead and you feel the need to choose a team? I'm on team Dillet gettit??! Go Gramma! Scorchin' sizzlin' sexy time, nicely paced, good character interaction, i love the flow the author has between them all, these are characters you want to care about, you feel for them when they hurt, you want to defend Nikki against her terrible family, and yes girls you want to jump their bones nom nom hug the beejeeuz out of Dillon and Brett.
I'm not saying you were trying to rub my face in anything. It just damn near killed me listening to what was going on. View all 18 comments. They also try to find Nik's brother. Nik gets involved with both Dillion and Brett and has choose which one she will stay with. What I liked: -The friends to lovers theme was great. He really is the alpha of the two males in my eyes. Which is the character type I like best. It is a big turn off for me when the guys dig each as much or more than the heroine. What I didn't like: -I kept having questions about what happened in the past between Dillion and Brett and Brett and Nik. I would have liked the story to have been more on Brett's story. He had a lot more going on in his past and his character I was more drawn to than the happy go lucky Dillion.
Overall a good book. I will check out more stories by this author. Jun 26, Judi rated it it was ok Shelves: erotica , , e-book , tbr-challenge , april , western-theme. If I had to accurately describe my feelings I tolerated it. I liked the cover and the premise sounded promising. Lots of people liked Texas Tangle so you may too. I did like Merlin the donkey. Nikki Kimball has definitely been dealt a raw deal.
Huh that's family for ya. Then along comes white knight and neighbor Dillon Barrett and his best friend and foster brother Brett Anderson riding in on their white stallions - ok they were just driving trucks - to save the damsel in distress. Dillon and Brett are as close as any two blood brothers can be and when all three attended high school together 10 years ago both Dillon and Brett had a "thing" for Nikki, but neither followed through on asking her out and lost the opportunity when she ended up preggers and married to her douchey ex-husband.
He who hesitates loses the girl boys! I found it interesting that after almost ruining the brother bond between Dillon and Brett when they were in high school when Brett and Nikki shared a kiss - now they're just going to let bye-gones be bye-gones like nothing happened and share her in and out of bed?
Or better yet one of them will be the bigger man and step aside so the other one can have a go at a relationship with her. Nope back to option 1 - they are going to live like one big happy family. Everybody into the bed! I've read them but they are not my read of choice. Texas Tangle does have lots of tangling in the sheets, on the kitchen table, in the front seat of a Jeep but one of the threesome scenes had a particular scenario that had me going whaaaaat?
Did he really just asked her to stimulate that?
Never read that request in a book before. It kind of had a WTF factor for me. Unfortunately it just wasn't my cup of apple cidar. View 2 comments. Nice and easy read A quick and easy read that was satisfying. I felt invested in the characters and just wanted to know what happens next for them.. Nikki has been through a lot at the hands of her ex-husband and her brother but she has always had her neighbour Dillon and his foster brother Brett to turn to. When her truck breaks down one night and Dillon offers to drive her home they discover her house is empty and everything she owns has been stolen.
Moving in with Dillon the heat quickly builds between the two of them but Nikki also has feelings for Brett. Brett and Dillon fought over Nikki years before and now that she is free again they Nikki has been through a lot at the hands of her ex-husband and her brother but she has always had her neighbour Dillon and his foster brother Brett to turn to. Brett and Dillon fought over Nikki years before and now that she is free again they both want to win her heart. Will she be forced to choose between the two of them or can they find a way for them all to be together?
I have to confess that Texas Tangle is the first menage story I've read so I wasn't too sure if I'd like it but I was impressed. Let's just say that if those two sexy men were in my life I think I'd be more than happy to try out a menage relationship! I found the feelings between the 3 were believable and kept me wanting to read more, I really didn't want to put the book down. This story really did have a little of everything and I enjoyed the scenes with Dillon's family - his gramma made me laugh out loud and his mother gave Nikki some great advice. Texas Tangle was an enjoyable erotic story and I could have happily carried on reading more about these characters.
It has left me wanting to try more menage stories and I will definitely be checking out more of Leah Braemel's work in the future. I'd recommend this story to any erotic romance fans. Dec 21, Jamie rated it it was amazing Shelves: own , e-books , romance , western , erotica. Since according to Goodreads it was available for Kindle users. When they are finally driven together by unfortunate circumstances. That there is another hero that wants to be with Nikki as well Brett, the good looking cop, who has history with Nikki. Now this is were things get a little dicey So who is Nikki gonna chose?! What I really liked about this story is that ALL of the characters were of equal importance. Meaning, they all got an equal amount of "page time. The background stories were well thought out and VERY vivid. The only quirk that I had with the story and it's only a small quirk is that I thought that Nikki at points in the story was written as whiney.
I didn't really care for that but it wasn't enough to knock the rating down any. Which brings us to the sex It's panty-spontaneous-combustion! Mar 13, Vicki Essex rated it it was amazing. And who does the laundry? This story not only gives the reader a scorchingly erotic ride, but it also beautifully captures the all-encompassing love and respect the two heroes and the heroine have for each other. Which is what makes their ultimate act feel absolutely real and devastatingly conflicted without any of the squick.
Written with lots of humor, heart-wrenching betrayal and plenty of heat, Leah Braemel sweeps the reader from drama to delight page to page. Cowboys, family troubles, small-town settings…this book has it all. A great read for anyone who has never read a menage romance, and for anyone who has! Texas Tangle I feel kind of neutral about this story. The plot was okay but I was expecting more. We learn a lot about Nikki and her failed marriage, but not a thing about what these two hot guys have been up to for 10 years, why neither of them married etc!
See a Problem?
Nikki arrives home and finds she has been robbed; everyone assumes it is her brother. Her parents are pissed at her for involving the cops. They constantly defend her dead beat brother but treat her like trash, huh?? That is pretty liberal even in todays day and age!! The timing is finally right for Dillon to ask Nikki out, but when he sees she has an interest in his foster-brother Brett Anderson he wonders which one she will choose. Both Brett and Dillon want Nikki, when an idea forms from an unusual source they come up with an idea that maybe a solution for all three. I found myself hooked with this story, wanting to see how it played out as you see the struggle between the three as long suppressed feelings are revealed. The story did have a few slow momens, but overall was an intriguing story.
Whew this one is as hot as the Texas heat! I must admit that I loved this book because of the strong character development. So often with this type of writing, you find more porn than plot, but definitely not the case with this book.
With that said, the love scenes are still incredibly steamy! Brett and Dillon are closer than any best friends could be, but the only thing that has ever come between them has left them at odds yet again. What I liked about this book, is that it has more plot than porn. It is clearly driven by the story and not with how many times they could fall into bed. I does feel a little unfinished though. It could have done with a couple more chapters where the author got to tie up all the lose ends. But I'm guessing she couldn't go over a specific amount of words, so this is where it ended. The porn part of this book is kind of tame compared to how books are written these days, placing it firmly in the roma What I liked about this book, is that it has more plot than porn.
The porn part of this book is kind of tame compared to how books are written these days, placing it firmly in the romance category. It's a little erotic, but not an erotica book, even if the cover hints at that. All in all, a book worth reading - esp if you like cowboys. This was a pretty good read Took a little too much time to get to the heart of the matter IMO and too little time once we got there. Check us out! Menage Readers Erotic Enchants. I liked this one. Nikki and Dillon together were great and after everything she has been trough she deserves to be treated right, while I liked Brett he was such the "martyr" in the beginning But they all finally pull it together and take a chance on each other and we get our HEA.
Sep 17, Jessica rated it it was ok. The sex scenes between Dillon and Nikki were hot. The connection between the two of them felt real. Unfortunately, I felt like the relationship between Nikki and Brett was forced in order to create the threesome. There were moments when I thought the story was touching and times I found it completely ridiculous. Jun 13, Blackravens Reviews rated it it was amazing. Texas Tangle is brilliant! I just read this one again. It's a good story and worth reading again! Oct 04, Desiree rated it liked it Shelves: menage. This book was much better than the novella Private Property Hauberk Protection, 1. In fact it was the best, most believable set up for a manage I've yet read!! Very buyable story!
It was well written too, however I had a few issues. There were typos. There were story discrepancies At one point in the tale DIllon moved all of Niki's horses over to his land by cutting a whole in the fence they shared. Then he patched it up so that it was unbreachable again. For most of the book Dillon is in charge, then suddenly Brett is the dominant? My biggest peeve though was in the phone conversation between her and her brother.
He stole everything but the kitchen sink from her, opened 19 credit cards in her name, stole every penny she had. After mooching off of her for half a year. You cleaned out my bank account, remember? You have to help me out. I am going to help you. You got yourself into this mess, Phillip Timothy Kimball, so you are going to accept the consequences. She clutched the receiver, her palms sweaty. In her heart, she knew she was doing the right thing, Ok, right there, what the fuck!
WTELF what the every-loving fuck - for those who don't know. Could she be any more spineless and forgiving?! He took my can of coke He fucking robbed her blind, she acts as if he took her bicycle without permission!!!!!!!!! I worked hard for that money. I scrimped and saved for every single penny, for every single bale of hay for the horses.
You ate my food and watched my cable. But the first time I turned my back, the first time I left you alone, you took everything from me and sold it so you could go gamble at the track or buy your next snort of coke. Because everything has to be all about you and what you want, the hell with me and everyone else. Even though the set up was really well done as far as believability and very good time frame How is that romantic or erotic?? I was too busy feeling sorry for them to be turned on by them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How much gettin' to know you time does a person need? Private Property had some great, sexy, male-dominace lines! They were really hot, but the story was a total dud imo , I'd hoped maybe this one would have that same speak, but a better story. And though it did have a better story more character development it lacked the tummy clenchers the other had.
But even with all those issues, I still enjoyed the book. I am glad I didn't totally give up on the author! Dec 21, Tamaia rated it liked it. I couldn't believe where this was headed as I was reading it but wow, it went there! This book was chock full of hot monkey sex!
Like, whoa! But it wasn't all sexy, sexy Sexy Time. It had a couple of faults but overall it was a pretty fun book to read. Nikki is the heroine in this book and she's pretty okay.
http://back2test.barrica94.cl/jyja-ford-fiesta.php I liked her well enough but sometimes, I wished she had a teensy bit more of a backbone. But her mom and dad and both real pieces of work. Nikki got pregnant either during high school or right out of high school and her parents made her feel like dirt about it. They pretty much forced her to marry the baby daddy and then after they were married for a few years and he was cheating on Nikki something serious and she FINALLY kicks him to the curb, they tell her how horrible she is and what a bad daughter she is.
I was like, Wh And then Nikki has a brother and he's a real loser. He's either a gambling addict or a drug addict or both and at the start of the book, he's stolen everything from Nikki. Like, there's no furniture left in her house, the appliances are gone, her clothes, everything. I wish that I could have seen her kick him in the nuts or slug him in the face or something! Same with her parents. Man, I wish she would have told them off over and over again. Nikki gets a bit of resolution but I guess I'm way too bloodthirsty and I wanted her to be, like, triumphant or something.
Dillon is one of the heroes and I really liked him. I think he was my favorite character in this book. He's so confident and sexy. There's a couple of scenes where he comes up to a screen door, he's about to come inside and he sort of slaps his hat on his thigh I'm telling you, that just straight up did it for me. I could totally picture it and he was just so damn hot! He's had a thing for Nikki since high school and at the start of the book, he starts to see that he has a chance to make all of his dreams come true.
His confidence is what makes him able to suggest some of the things he suggests but it also really highlights the difference between him and Brett Brett is the second hero and he's not too bad himself. Brett is the Sheriff or a Deputy or something in the town. Like Dillon, he's had a thing for Nikki since way back in high school. In fact, even though Dillon and Brett are brothers in every sense of the word except in blood, they had a huge falling out over Nikki at the end of their senior year in high school.
Things have never quite been the same between them. I think that by the end of the book, I liked Brett but it took me a while to get there. I thought that Brett was a little weak and his self confidence was nill when compared to Dillon. At first, it was slightly endearing that he was kind of whiny and unsure of himself.
But the "Aww" factor wore off pretty quickly and he just started to feel kind of depressive and pathetic. Having said that, I thought everything that Nikki and Dillon and Brett were feeling and thinking seemed pretty realistic. The scrutiny from friends and family, the judgement of strangers So maybe the characters weren't perfect but I'm not entirely sure that reading about three perfect people would be any fun. I really did like that there was a shot of realism in the book. Now, I shouldn't have to tell you that this was a seriously hot book.
There's plenty, plenty of Sexy Time and its mostly vanilla. I think I would recommend this book to fans of erotica. This isn't too crazy intense so I think even casual erotica readers will enjoy this. Jun 24, Jody rated it really liked it. Her whole life Nikki Kimball has tried to do the right thing.
