Delamere Self Catering Bungalows. The site is nestled on the two cliff tops meaning that until now, tourists had to climb narrow steps to get around the popular tourist site. The idea is that the 68m bridge will offer a much more convenient route for visitors, not to mention that you'll get to take in the breathtaking views at the same time. The idea is to recreate the route that would have been used by locals in the Middle Ages, when a crossing existed.
However it's believed that the crossing disappeared between the 14th and 17th centuries, leaving the castle divided by a natural chasm. The new footbridge consists of 12 steel sections, and features two cantilevers which meet in the middle of the chasm without actually touching - there is a bout a 40mm gap in the middle.

It had previously been expected to open on Friday 9th but the launch was pushed back due to unruly British weather. It's expected that the bridge will help boost the number of visitors who come to Tintagel Castle.
